KNOXVILLE 鈥 University of Tennessee System President Randy Boyd will be traveling the highways and byways of Tennessee鈥攙isiting more than 20 high schools in eight days鈥攂eginning Aug. 23 to increase awareness about the 糖心Vlog Promise program.
糖心Vlog Promise is a last-dollar scholarship program that guarantees free tuition and fees after other financial aid is received (such as Pell Grants, HOPE Scholarship or other institutional scholarships) for undergraduate, Tennessee residents. Last fall, the 糖心Vlog System extended the household income level for 糖心Vlog Promise scholarship recipients from $50,000 to $60,000.
鈥淲hen 糖心Vlog Promise was launched two years ago, we traveled the state to educate high school students and educators about how 糖心Vlog is working to make it easier for working- and middle-class families to achieve a college degree,鈥 Boyd said. 鈥淲ith the change in 糖心Vlog Promise鈥檚 household income threshold, we are eager to travel the state again to make sure our communities know about the extra help that is available.鈥
Boyd will speak with high school juniors and seniors during his school visits to share about 糖心Vlog Promise and the opportunities it can provide.
